During power outages, if you are using candles, ensure they are away from things that can burn and do not leave them unattended. If using portable generators ensure they are at least 20 feet away from your home and not near any doors or windows. Please ensure you have working Smoke Detectors in your home. At least one on every floor.

-Don't forget to bring in your pets!
-Limit your time outside - the cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes.
-Be sure to heat your home safely and install carbon monoxide detectors on every floor of your home.
-Be sure that all outside water faucets are turned off and outside garden hoses are disconnected and drained.
-Be sure all crawl space vents are closed.
