| SMVFA Annual Convention Parade
On Sunday, April 26, 2026 members from the Cobb Island Volunteer Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services, Inc. travelled to Solomons, MD to participate in the Southern Maryland Volunteer Firemen’s Association Annual Parade and Games. The 79th Annual SMVFA Convention was hosted by the Solomons Volunteer Rescue Squad and Fire Department. This event recognizes and celebrates the commitment and dedication of Southern Maryland’s volunteer first responders.
Apparatus participating in the parade included Engine 64, Ambulance 69, Engine 61, and Engine Tanker 6. Jr Miss Fire Prevention, KayLeigh Jackson, represented the Department for Fire Prevention. Members also participated in the games to include Bucket Brigade, Tug of War, Battle of the Buckets, and Fastest Dressed Obstacle Course.
The Department was honored with the following awards:
2nd Best Appearing Brush Unit, Engine 64
Best Appearing Fire Ambassador Queen, KayLeigh Jackson
