A Morning of Learning & Gratitude at CIVFD |
May 5, 2025 | |
A huge thank you to the students and chaperones from Thomas Stone High School’s SOAR/ACHIEVE program for visiting Cobb Island VFD today! We had a great time teaching essential fire safety skills—like stop, drop, and roll, how to crawl low under smoke, the importance of working smoke detectors, and how to call 911 in an emergency. The group explored our inflatable Fire Prevention House, got a close-up look at our ambulance equipment, and learned about firefighter gear and SCBA, helping them understand what we look and sound like during an emergency. We were especially touched by the thoughtful thank-you cards the students left for us—it means a lot to our team when we see the impact these visits make. A big shoutout to our CIVFD members who took time out of their day to help with the demonstrations and make this visit possible. Your dedication to education and community outreach truly makes a difference. Thank you again to everyone involved—you’re welcome back anytime! (Photos from the visit below!) |
