The Cobb Island Volunteer Fire Department and EMS applied for a grant through the FEMA Assistance to Firefighters grant program to replace expired and outdated fire hose, nozzles, and water supply appliances.

The department was notified recently from Senator Chris Van Hollen's Office and FEMA, that we have been awarded a FEMA AFG grant in the amount of $153,695.00.

"Congratulations! Your grant application submitted under the Grant Programs Directorate's Fiscal Year (FY) 2023 Assistance to Firefighters Grant has been approved for award."

This grant award will help our department with ensuring our fire hose and appliances are new and in great shape. This grant will also help alleviate any financial burden the department would have incurred if we had to purchase entirely with our own funds.
