The Cobb Island Volunteer Fire Department and EMS (CIVFD) would like to inform you that the Department of Emergency Services Career ALS Ambulance Crew will be removed from our station effective December 1, 2022.

The Department of Emergency Services leadership has chosen to relocate the ALS Ambulance crew to the Newburg Volunteer Rescue Squad and Fire Department. The CIVFD leadership has been in discussions and meetings with the County Leadership and the Charles County Department of Emergency Services, to voice our opposition of this move. 

The CIVFD does not believe this move is in the best interest for the tax paying citizens of our area for a variety of reasons. This move will increase response times for an ALS unit to our area. 

Community members having questions and or concerns should contact the Charles County Department of Emergency Services and or the Charles County Commissioners.
