The Charles County Volunteer Fire and EMS Associations recently celebrated the 25th anniversary of the high school Fire and EMS Cadet Program. These students faced an unprecedented learning challenge because of the COVID-19 pandemic, having to learn much of the program virtually. The students completed Emergency Medical Technician, Firefighter I, Hazardous Materials Operations, and Firefighter II.

Cobb Island Volunteer Fire Department and EMS, Inc. is proud to have two of our members graduate from the program this year, Dylan Penn and Logan Mattingly. Both worked extremely hard and gave countless hours of their time to this endeavor.

We also pleased to announce that Logan served as Squad Leader, holding the rank of Corporal, and set the example for others to follow all year. His hard work resulted in top awards for all programs, as well as graduating top of the class. As a result, he was awarded the Justin Scott Hutchinson Memorial Scholarship Award.

We are proud of both Dylan and Logan and wish them the best.
