Early Morning Boat Fire

On Monday, March 15, 2021, shortly after 6:30 am, Cobb Island Volunteer Fire Department & EMS was alerted for a boat fire at a marina.

Units responded to the docks located behind Captain Charles Seafood House to find a docked 25' boat "fully involved." Chief 6A arrived with Rescue Engine 6 and Engine Tanker 6 to begin extinguishing the fire. The fire was out in within 15 minutes and the overhaul process began.

45 Fire and EMS personnel from CIVFD & EMS and neighboring companies responded to the incident, including mutual aide from NDW Dahlgren, St. Mary's County, and King George County. Department of Natural Resources and the Office of the State Fire Marshal were notified.

There were no juries reported.
