Single Motorcycle Accident with Injuries

At 11:25 hours Company 6 was alerted for the MVA involving a motorcycle. Rescue Engine 62 responded with five and the Lieutenant along with Paramedic Ambulance 69. MSP Trooper 7 was started due to the severity of the call at the time of Dispatch. Rescue Engine 62 identified the landing site to be used while en route to the scene. Life Member David Stine and FF/EMT Wesley Jackson were first to arrive on the scene and rendered aide to the patient until Fire and EMS units arrived. Upon arrival on the scene Rescue Engine 62 and Paramedic Ambulance 69 found a single patient lying in the ditch in approximately 1 foot of water. Rescue Engine 62 established the Rock Point Road Command.

Rescue Engine 62 along with Paramedic Ambulance 69 evaluated the patient, took C-spine precautions and packaged the patient on a backboard to be carried out and loaded into the Paramedic Ambulance. Paramedic Ambulance 289 from NDWFD and the Southern Medical Duty Officer arrived on the scene and assisted with removing the patient from the steep ditch line and loading the patient into the Paramedic Ambulance. Patient was assessed and transported to the landing zone by Paramedic Ambulance 69 priority 2 category bravo with the crew from paramedic ambulance 289 on board. Rescue Engine 62 terminated command and went in service on scene assisting the Police while Engine 61 with 3 personnel handled the landing zone for Trooper 7.
