At 0348 hours on Thursday, January 8, 2015, Cobb Island Volunteers were alerted minutes apart for a traumatic injury BLS for EMS Station 6 and a vehicle fire for Fire Station 6. The response locations were in the same neighborhood but at different locations. Engine 61 arrived to find an auto fully involved in fire on Swann Point Blvd near the pool house, while Ambulance 69 arrived in the 14600 block of Bar Harbor Court with two patients with traumatic injuries. The auto fire and traumatic injuries were a result of a high speed, head on, into a tree motor vehicle crash. The two occupants of the car went for help to assist with their injuries. Engine 61 and Brush 6 extinguished the vehicle fire while Engine Tanker 6 and Paramedic Ambulance 14 (Newburg EMS) assisted Ambulance 69 with the two trauma patients. Both patients were transported by Maryland State Police Helicopter, Trooper 7, to Medstar Trauma Center in Washington D.C.
