| The department is proud to announce that one of our members has successfully completed and passed the Maryland Institute of Emergency Medical Services, Emergency Medical Technician - Basic course. The course consisted of 131 instructional hours plus numerous hours of ride alongs on their companies ambulances to obtain their patient assessments.
The objective of this course is to provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills to perform emergency medical care in a pre-hospital environment at the basic life support level. They will be able to recognize, assess, and manage medical and trauma signs and symptoms in patients of emergency situations.
