We were alerted at 1902 hours for a reported commercial building fire on Cedar Lane. Eng. 61 with Chief 6A, Rescue Eng. 62 with the Safety Officer, Tanker 6, Chief 6, Amb. 68, B-6, Eng. 64, MSU 6, and Boat 6 responded with 29 volunteers. While enroute we could see from the bridge that it was a working fire. Chief 6 requested St. Mary's Boat 5. Eng. 61 arrived on the scene side alpha delta with an old vacant commercial building with fire showing ordering a defensive attack due to the condition of the building. Chief 6 established the Cedar Lane Command, Chief 6A was assigned Operations. Eng. 61's crew advanced attack lines. Eng. 62 and Tanker 6's crew set up the basin and established a good water supply with Eng. 143 on the hydrant at Breeze Farm. Chief 10A was assigned Water Supply. Boat 6 arrived on the scene and placed the deck gun in service and established a water supply. St. Mary's Boat 5 and Eng. 64 extinguished the brush fire on the side of the bank. Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office is still investigating the cause of the fire.
